POSITION SUMMARY

Assist the Youth Pastor and Youth Program Director in planning and executing high-quality programming and events for middle and high school students. Support both roles by preparing, organizing, and setting up materials and activities. Maintain flexibility and a positive attitude while serving and leading staff, volunteers, and students.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Biblical Teaching: Ability to teach biblically grounded, theologically sound, and age-appropriate messages.

Communication Skills: Dynamically communicate information and ideas clearly verbally, in writing, and in large group settings. Maintain professionalism.

Social Awareness: Ability to read and respond to group dynamics. Demonstrate emotional intelligence and ability to navigate social dynamics. Provide energy and structure to programming through verbal and nonverbal communication.

Teamwork: Collaborate with co-workers. Express a willingness to meet team needs with a servant heart.

Office Technology: Work with computer-based tools: Google Suite, Canva, MS Word, Excel, and email. Learn our church database system.

High Integrity: Respect the privacy of volunteers and students when working with confidential information.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Attend all Youth Programming and Youth Events.
  2. Support the Youth Pastor and Youth Program Director in preparing and facilitating Youth Programming, Youth Events, and Special Projects as needed.
  3. Assist with setting up and cleaning up for weekly Youth Programming and Youth Events. Repeatedly lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  4. Assist in the creation of youth games for weekly Youth Programming.
  5. Teach Biblically grounded, accessible, and applicable messages to youth as needed.
  6. Pursue continual growth in understanding the Bible.
  7. Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Youth Pastor.
  8. Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Youth Program Director.
  9. Attend Staff Meetings and Events.
