POSITION SUMMARY To provide a fun and safe environment and build faith and community where children and their families can “Come as You Are”.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
Successful completion of comprehensive background check administered by First Free Church to protect the safety of our children.
An understanding of the developmental needs of infants, toddlers and preschoolers and the ability to interact with parents in ways which address those developmental needs.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally to a wide variety of adult and child personality types.
Background in caregiving or teaching children is desired.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work a minimum of 3 services per month, average 4 out of 6 weekends (schedule structure is flexible).
Work with supervisor to secure a replacement if you are unable to work on a scheduled weekend.
Complete any set up/re-set before and between services necessary to carry out scheduled programming, ready by 20 minutes prior to service start.
Prepare lessons and set up classroom
Ensure that radio is charged and available, as well as materials needed.
Work in coordination with the Birth-5 Coordinator to coordinate and execute weekend Discovery Land programming and curriculum.
Teach in a variety of roles to fill vacancies to include pregame/worship, Discover Time, Bible lesson (from leader absences, volunteer shortage, etc.).
Greet and welcome children and families according to our “Come as You Are” philosophy. Answer questions for new and visiting families.
Ensure all children are in the age- or grade-appropriate classroom.
Promote our vision and expectations and be an example to others.
Competently execute planned activities with children while simultaneously building relationships and maintaining the fun and safe environment.
Create relationships with kids and provide an atmosphere for them to create relationships with other kids.
Attend staff/volunteer meetings and trainings when scheduled.
Occasionally work during First Free Kids events, such as picnics, movie nights, etc., if requested to do so by Children’s Pastor.
