POSITION SUMMARY

  • Coordinate and lead our Birth to 5 ministry in order to provide a fun and safe environment during weekend services where families and children can build community and learn the simple truths of God’s love.

  • PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    Oversight and coordination of Birth to 5 classrooms and team during weekend services (and/or ensuring staff coverage as a team lead if you need to be gone).
  • Responsible for the planning, preparation/set up, and execution of the Discovery Land program in Birth to 5 classes, as decided upon by the Children’s Pastor.
  • Recruiting, scheduling and communicating with Birth to 5 staff and volunteers.
  • Responsible for the onboarding and training of new staff and volunteers, and supporting them as they become well-versed in child discipleship specifics, as well as safety and security protocol.
  • Responsible for having adequate staff and volunteers scheduled to ensure optimal child to teacher ratios during weekend services. This will require stepping into a variety of roles when not covered by staff and volunteers, so must be prepared appropriately each weekend.
  • Responsible for having toys and materials rotated and cleaned properly between uses to ensure a high level of safety for all.
  • Maintain guidelines for the use of the Birth to 5 areas through communication with other groups who may utilize those rooms outside of weekend services.
  • Attend and participate in monthly staff meetings and staff development, as required by Executive Pastor.
  • Attend and participate in First Free Kids team meetings with Children’s Pastor and Administrative Assistant
